“Smart Glasses for Visually Impaired People” developed by Mr. Vijaykumar R., Ms. Akshata Teggi, Ms. Divya S. Guddadamani, and Ms. Laxmi C. Naik under the guidance of Prof. Gautam Dematti, this innovative project presented a technology-driven solution to aid visually impaired individuals. The smart glasses are designed to enhance the user’s sensory perception, thereby improving their ability to navigate their surroundings.

- Prof. Priyanka Pujari and Prof. Sonam Bhandurge, have been selected for the prestigious ACM-W India Grad Cohort for Indian Women in Research. The event is scheduled to be held at IIT Kanpur on 6th and 7th July 2025.
- Dr. Dhanashree Kulkarni was selected for the prestigious IEEE Fellowship for the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) WIE/YP Research Forum, to be held in Paris, France, from June 25 to 27, 2025.
- Dr. Dhanashree Kulkarni was selected and sponsored for Leadership Workshop for Women Scientists in Space and Allied Sciences @ IIT INDORE.
- Prof. Sonam Bhandurge, Prof. Priyanka Sheelavantar and Prof. Priyanka Pujari have been awarded as a mentor for Project based Learning by Wipro and have been recognized as Wipro Certified Faculty.
- Faculty were invited as guest speakers to share insights and expertise at various institutions. Dr. Dhanashree Kulkarni, was invited as the guest speaker by the Google Developers Community and Belagavi Women Techmakers for delivering a talk on “impact of AI”. Prof. Vidhyadhar Hanji, was invited as a distinguished resource person with the staff of Honeywell International School.
- Faculty have published numerous papers in prestigious journals and have also been granted copyrights and patents.
- An International UK patent has been granted for the design of “Artificial Intelligence-Based Medical Equipment for Cancer Classification Using Gene Profiles”.
The innovative research was led by Dr. Anand B. Deshpande, Principal & Director, AITM, Dr. Dhanashree Kulkarni, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering & Dean Academics and Mr. Vishalkirthi Patil, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering & Placement Officer. - Prof. Gautam Dematti was being invited as a Judge for the “Mobile Marvel” event at Avalanche 2024, hosted by KLS Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belagavi.
